Our Company, Our History!
Rayco Safety, Inc. was founded in 1991 by Ray Bryant McBride, Jr. in honor of his late father, Ray Bryant McBride, Sr. who passed away in 1990. After being in the safety business for many years and after the passing of his father, Ray decided that he would form his own company to carry on the legacy of his father. He immediately began to exercise the ethics and morals that his mother and father had instilled in him from an early age. He started Rayco Safety with very little money, not a single customer and only 1 fellow employee, Ronda Vaught, who still remains with the company today and is in charge of the company’s accounting department. In the early years, hard work and determination proved to Ray and others, that this could and would be a successful venture.
The very first customer that Ray acquired in 1991, remains with Rayco Safety today as a valued business partner. It says a lot about our company that this customer, as well as many others, have stayed loyal to us throughout the years. Our personal approach, valued customer service and quick delivery &/or shipping are just a few of the reasons that this is possible. We pride ourselves on making sure that our customers are taken care of in the ways they need from special pricing, quality merchandise, personal delivery via our trucks, same day delivery if/when needed and even the occasional weekend delivery for emergency situations. As a privately held and family owned business, a commitment has been made to always maintain a personal touch with our business partners.
As the years passed, Rayco Safety began to grow with added staff and salesmen that included family members such as sons, nephews and a daughter-in-law. His son Derek is still with Rayco Safety and is now the Vice President; Reid Norman, Ray’s nephew, is our company’s Operations/Service Manager as well as our in house IT support and Jennifer McBride, Ray’s daughter-in-law and Derek’s wife, is in charge of customer service and marketing. Most of the employees at Rayco Safety, have been with the company 20+ years making us a cohesive team that works together to ensure customer satisfaction.
Even though the company had a name, it didn’t have a face. Around 1999-2000, a logo was created for the company that was to reflect the memory of Ray’s late father, Ray McBride Sr. The R of Rayco Safety represented and still represents, the way his father signed his name. Over the years, the logo has had many variations but has always stayed focused with Ray Sr. in mind. The logo was refreshed with a broader story behind it. The R still signifies Ray Sr’s signature but now the R goes outside the diamond (box). Rayco Safety is always looking outside the box of norms, to do whatever is needed to set us apart from the competition while providing quality products, exceptional customer service and now an even broader range of “Signature Solutions for Today’s Workforce”. We will always look for new intuitive ways to better serve our business partners.

Without you we wouldn’t be in the place we are today nor would we be able to continue to revamp our services to better suit your needs.
